What areas do you serve?
We work throughout Baldwin County, Mobile County, and the surrounding South Alabama area — Daphne, Fairhope, Foley, Gulf Shores, Spanish Fort, Bay Minette, Robertsdale, Loxley, Mobile, Saraland, Semmes, and Theodore. If your property is nearby and we can get equipment to it, call and ask.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. EMCO Builders holds Alabama Home Builder License #13967 and carries full insurance. That protects you and your property — and it means you are hiring an established company, not a guy with a rented mulcher and no coverage if something goes wrong.
How much does land clearing cost?
Every estimate is free and we price it after we look at the actual ground. Cost depends on acreage, how thick and how big the trees and brush are, the terrain and how wet it is, whether we mulch on-site or haul debris off, and how easy the property is to get equipment onto. We give you a straight written number — no vague per-acre guess over the phone.
Should I do forestry mulching or traditional land clearing?
It depends on the goal. Forestry mulching grinds brush and small trees into a mulch layer in one pass — no burn piles, no hauling, great for underbrush and selective clearing, and it is easy on the soil. Traditional clearing with dozers and excavators is the move when you need everything gone down to bare, build-ready dirt or you are pulling big stumps and root balls. We will tell you honestly which fits your project.
Do you haul off the debris or leave it?
Your choice, and we price both. We can mulch material in place so it stays on your land as ground cover, chip and stack it, or haul it completely off-site and leave the property clean. On wet Gulf Coast lots, mulching in place is often the cheaper and cleaner option.
How fast can you get started, and do you do storm cleanup?
We run our own equipment and operators, so we can usually get on the schedule quickly. For storm and hurricane cleanup — downed trees, blocked access, debris — we are available 24/7 and prioritize getting your property safe and passable fast.
Do I need a permit to clear land in Baldwin or Mobile County?
Sometimes. Land-disturbance and erosion rules vary by county and by city, and wetlands or proximity to water can trigger extra requirements. We have cleared land here for decades and will tell you up front what your property likely needs — and we will not knock down something that gets you in trouble.
