Knocked Down and Hauled Off Clean

Demolition is more than knocking something down. EMCO Builders tears out structures, old mobile homes, barns, sheds, concrete slabs, and foundations across Baldwin County, Mobile County and across South Alabama, then cleans up and hauls off so you're left with a clear site, not a debris pile. We also run storm and hurricane cleanup, which on this coast is not an if but a when. Thirty years and more than 300 projects means we've taken down about everything that gets built down here.

Doing it safe and clean is the job. We check for what has to come out or get handled first, drop the structure in control instead of just smashing it, separate what can be salvaged or recycled, and haul the rest to where it goes. When you're clearing to rebuild, demolition runs straight into clearing, grading, and a fresh slab, so the same crew takes you from teardown to build-ready ground.

Structures, Mobile Homes, and Old Concrete

We take down houses, barns, sheds, shops, and outbuildings, pull old mobile homes off their spots and haul them away, and break out concrete slabs, foundations, and driveways. Some of it is making room to rebuild, some is getting rid of a hazard or an eyesore, and some is a mobile home that has reached the end of the road. Whatever it is, we drop it in a controlled way and clean up behind ourselves.

Concrete is its own kind of work. Busting out a slab, a foundation, or an old driveway takes the right iron and a plan for the rubble, which we can crush and reuse as base or haul off. When the tear-out is the first step toward something new, we roll right into grading and pad prep so the ground is ready for the pour.

Storm and Hurricane Cleanup

The Gulf Coast doesn't ask if a storm is coming, only when. When one hits, downed trees, torn-up structures, and scattered debris turn a property into a hazard fast. We run storm and hurricane cleanup, clearing downed timber, pulling apart wrecked buildings, and hauling off the mess, and because we keep our own equipment and crew, we can move quick when it counts. We're available 24/7 for emergency and storm work.

Fast and safe both matter after a storm. Damaged structures are unpredictable, there can be live lines and hidden hazards in the wreckage, and standing water complicates everything. Thirty years working this coast means we read a damaged site before we tear into it, and we get your property safe and passable first, then haul it clean.

Done Safe, Handled Right, Hauled Clean

Before anything comes down we look at what's in it and around it: utilities to disconnect, tanks or septic to handle, and what's close enough to protect. Older structures around here can hold materials that have to be dealt with the right way, and we'll tell you straight if something needs a specialist before we proceed. Cutting corners on demolition is how people and neighboring buildings get hurt.

When it's down, the job isn't over. We sort what we can salvage or recycle, load out the rest, and haul it to where it legally goes. No leaving a pile for you to figure out, and no dumping where it shouldn't be. You're left with a clean site that's ready for whatever comes next, whether that's a new build or just open ground.

How We Work

What Working With EMCO Looks Like

From the first walkthrough to the final one, here’s exactly how your project runs.

1

Walk the Property & Free Estimate

We come out, look at the actual ground — the growth, the slope, the wet spots, the access — listen to what you want done, and give you a straight, written estimate. No pressure and no phone-quote guessing.

2

Schedule & Prep

We lock in a date, plan equipment access and where debris goes, and account for drainage and any lines or wetlands to protect. You know the plan before anything starts moving.

3

The Work

Our own crew runs our own iron — mulchers, excavators, and dozers — and we keep the site clean and keep you posted. Decades of experience means we read the ground and adjust instead of tearing it up.

4

Final Walk & Cleanup

We walk the finished property with you, haul off or mulch whatever the plan called for, and leave the ground clean, graded, and ready for whatever you are building next.

Do you haul off the debris after demolition?
Yes, always. Cleanup and haul-off are part of the job, not an add-on. We sort out what can be salvaged or recycled, load out the rest, and haul it to a proper disposal site, so you're left with a clean, clear lot instead of a debris pile. Leaving the mess behind isn't demolition, it's half a job.
Can you remove an old mobile home?
Yes. We pull old and storm-damaged mobile homes off their spots and haul them away, along with the skirting, steps, decks, and tie-downs that come with them. If you're clearing the spot to set a new home or build, we can grade and prep it in the same run so it's ready when you are.
Do I need a permit to demolish a building?
Often, yes. Baldwin and Mobile County, and some cities, require a demolition permit, and utilities have to be disconnected before anything comes down. We're used to how it works down here and can walk you through it, so the teardown is handled right and there's no trouble after the fact.
How much does demolition cost?
It depends on the size and type of structure, what it's built of, how much concrete is involved, and how far the debris has to travel. A shed is a small job; a house with a slab and outbuildings is a bigger one. We look at what's coming down, factor in haul-off and disposal, and give you a free written estimate.
Can you help after a hurricane or storm?
Yes, that's a big part of what we do down here, and we're available 24/7 for it. We clear downed trees, tear out and haul off damaged structures, and get your property safe and passable. Keeping our own equipment and crew means we can respond quickly when a storm puts a lot of people in line at once.
