Daphne sits up on the bluff over Mobile Bay, and it's been the front door of the fastest-growing county in Alabama for a while now. New rooftops keep going up off County Road 13 and County Road 64, and behind most of them is a lot that started as pine and thicket. Clearing ground here means reading the slope. Water runs off the bluff in gullies headed for the bay, so how a lot gets cleared decides whether the next hard rain takes your topsoil with it.
EMCO Builders has cleared lots across Daphne for more than 30 years, from single infill parcels in older Lake Forest to whole cutovers for new subdivisions. We drop and haul the trash trees, grub the stumps and root balls so nothing pushes back up, and shape the dirt so the pad drains the right direction. We're a licensed Alabama home builder, #13967, and somebody answers at (251) 747-7839 day or night. Start with land clearing and we'll carry it to a buildable pad.

The Eastern Shore drains hard toward the bay, and a Daphne lot scraped flat and left bare will rut and wash before the foundation's poured. We clear in a way that keeps the ground holding: pull the underbrush and junk hardwoods, leave the root mat where it's doing work on a slope, and cut in swales so runoff has somewhere to go besides the neighbor's yard.
A lot of these lots carry big live oaks the owner wants kept, and a heritage oak is worth protecting on the Eastern Shore. We clear around them outside the drip line so the roots and the grade stay intact, then mulch the underbrush back into the ground instead of burning it. You end up with a buildable lot that still has the shade you paid for.
Builders and homeowners call us for the same thing across Daphne: turn a wooded lot into a pad a foundation crew can work on. That's the clearing, the stump removal, the fill hauled in where the ground sits low, and the driveway punched in so trucks can get back to the site in the mud. We hand it off graded and ready, not a field of stumps and ruts.
Hurricane Sally put a lot of Daphne timber on the ground in 2020, and every storm season since has dropped more. When trees come down on a house or block the drive, we clear it and haul it, and we don't wait for Monday to start. Storm cleanup doesn't keep office hours, so neither do we.
